As we work toward fulfilling our mission, here are a few feathers the Student Finance Club has added to its cap.
SFC Masterclass
Two Masterclass session has been hosted by SFC to groom students on the latest financial and tech skills to boost their career goals and skills. Our members have been groomed and this has solidified the quality of members we have as a team.
The masterclass was a three-week virtual Bootcamp to groom students and gave access to real work case scenario on:
- Data Analysis
- Introduction to Cryptocurrency and Blockchain
- Financial Modelling & Valuation
Job Opportunities
As we like to say in the club, with SFC the opportunities are limitless. Our members have secured internships and full-time roles in prestigious companies such as International Monetary Fund (IMF), Goldman Sachs, Jefferies, Bank of America, Bloomberg, UCML, KPMG, DuddenHill Foundation, Zrosk Investment, Asset Resource Management Holding Co (ARM) and many more. Our club is notable for nurturing students with zero knowledge in finance to stars who are flying in the finance space.
Virtual Conferences
The SFC Virtual Conferences have been instrumental to the growth of our club. Sensitizing students studying non-finance related courses on the opportunities in the finance world, and providing a platform for existing members to connect with finance professionals while gaining practical knowledge of the industry are the focus of the conferences. So far, we have organized;
FinXposition
Aimed at closing the knowledge gaps of finance enthusiast in emerging markets.
Inventio
Interest discovery & Industry breakthrough. Inventio was a virtual conference with 150 participants across different fields in attendance. It aimed to sensitize students of the university community that Finance can be ventured into while studying a non-finance related course.
Demystifying Mutual Funds
In collaboration with Emerging Africa Asset Management. This was a virtual event with 70 participants.
